Injured Climber Rescued Near Estes Park on Sunday [PICTURES]
Over the weekend a team of 1st responders rescued an injured climber near Estes Park. The 49-year-old Boulder man had broken his legs at the Crags East of Fish Creek Road and South St. Vrain Avenue on Sunday morning.
Rocky Mountain National Park rescuers worked with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services, Larimer County Search and Rescue and Rocky Mountain Rescue to complete the operation. A Blackhawk helicopter was dispatched from Eagle, CO to help as well.
The climber was successfully hoisted by the helicopter and flown to the Estes Park Fairgrounds and transported by helicopter to Estes Park Medical Center. There was no name released and the condition of the victim is not known at this time.
