This is one of those heart warming stories that made me tear up a little bit. Ryan Roberts was born with Down Syndrome and a heart defect and won't live to see his toddler years , but that isn't stopping him from living his life to the fullest. His parents created a bucket list for him so their son can experience the simple things in life that we may take for granted like petting a dog and riding a bike. He even had a (root) beer with dad on his 21st month birthday and he  got a speeding ticket for going to fast in the hospital. Doctors told the parents that there was nothing more they could do for him so his  mother, Diane Roberts, took to Facebook to talk about her frustrations.

People kept asking, ‘What can I do for you?’ We didn't want anything. We didn’t want the people to bring stuffed animals and balloons. His room is filled with balloons. I said, just go create a memory with your kids. Just go put a banana split down in front of your kids for dinner and watch their faces light up. No chicken, rice and broccoli tonight, just ice cream. They're going to remember that forever.”

And that idea has taken off! One of her friends created Ryan's Banana Split Party on Facebook asking people to take Diane's advice and have a banana split. The page now has about 26,000 people attending and people are encouraged to upload a picture of them enjoying ice cream to the page.

I say we take her advice and enjoy the little things in life and have a sundae for Ryan, I know I will!
