Has the Frozen Yogurt Craze Hit a Dead End in Fort Collins?
If you want your Frozen Yogurt fix in Fort Collins, your choices became slim this week as two local shops ended up closing.
According to the Coloradoan, the TCBY location at Rigden Farms on Timberline closed earlier this week. The closure doesn't effect the chain's other two locations in Fort Collins. Those locations are in the Raintree Village Shopping Center and the store near West Troutman and South College. The franchise owner tells the Coloradoan that having the three locations all within a close vicinity of each other was "just one too many".
Also closing in Fort Collins is Mahalo Yogurt, which was located in the Campus West complex near CSU. The shop had been open in that location since 2010.
No word was given on why Mahalo closed other than their lease wasn't renewed. A new Australian restaurant, The Waltzing Kangaroo, opened in the old Mahalo location on September 1st.
With the recent closings of the two FroYo shops in Northern Colorado, we have to ask...Is the craze starting to wane for the "DIY Yogurt Maker"?
