On the off chance that you needed another reason to hate Mondays, I've got one for you.

The City of Fort Collins Streets Department is starting an asphalt paving project on Harmony Road on Monday (May 17). Construction will take place between Shields Street and the BNSF Railroad at the Mason Trail.

While the project is ultimately good for the road, it's not so good for those of us who hate traffic.

According to a press release from the City of Fort Collins, eastbound Harmony Road will be closed for the first phase of the project, while westbound Harmony Road will be closed for the second.

Residential streets that require access to Harmony Road will remain open. The project will not affect weekend traffic or access to nearby businesses.

If weather allows, the department should complete the project within eight to 10 days. After that, another asphalt paving project will begin towards Horsetooth Road.

Construction will usually occur between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you're driving then, you might want to take the long way home (or the short way 'cause, ya know, construction).
