Greeley Fire Department Responds to House Fire Monday Morning
The Greeley Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of 1st St at 9:45am on Monday. When crews arrived, flames were coming from a window in the front of the house. Firefighters deployed a hose line and made a quick and aggressive attack on the fire. Remaining fire crews supported the attack by providing water supply from a fire hydrant, assisting with search and rescue, and ventilating smoke. It also happened to be the 1st day on the job for Rookie firefighter Kaleb Ledford.
The home owner was home at the time of the fire but was outside and fortunately was not injured. 3 fire engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 heavy rescue, 1 battalion chief, and 1 ambulance responded to the scene. There was a total of 25 fire personnel fighting the fire. Several Greeley Police Officers also assisted.
The fire is still under investigation. No cause or damage estimate is available at this time.
