I heard a great joke last year.

Someone told me that if I look directly into mirror and say "pumpkin spice latte" 3 times, a white girl in yoga pants will suddenly appear and tell me everything she loves about fall.

Point taken, and I don't want to be the guy who talks about his admiration for autumn like some sap, but I can't help it. It's a favorite for many reasons.

The main thing is the weather in Colorado. While it snows in the mountains, here on the Front Range, we can prepare for a lot of days that will be between 55 and 70 degrees. Even nicer ones will go up into the 70's, but I'll take 60 and sunny anytime for enjoying the outdoors.

Here comes the fall weather. Upon publication of this post(Oct. 13, 2014), we are expecting a nice week. Tomorrow will be 72. Wedensday, 78. Thursday, 71. Sunny day after sunny day. There may be some wind. When the clouds roll over, a chill can fill, but a long sleeve fleece will take care of that.

I love golfing in this weather. I love skating in it, and the area skate parks (Edora and Northside are my spots) are empty all day because the kids are in school.

One of my other fav things to do in this weather is go for a bike ride. Being #2 on USAToday's Reader's Choices for best cycling towns, it's not hard to love all over the two wheel adventure available to us in Fort Collins.

Feel like a full day adventure through windy challenging canyons and mountains? Simply head west.

We can turn our errands into our fun by doing it on the bicycle and taking advantage of the matrix of trails that go from the foothills through the plains and to every part of the town in between. Don't forget about the great bicycling map that GoogleMaps offers. Just select the 'Bicycling' option in the drop down menu under the search bar.
