Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, has responded to a comment that Lana Del Rey made a couple weeks ago in an interview.

The Guardian reported that Del Rey made the offhand remark, "I wish I was dead already," when the subject of the late Cobain and Amy Winehouse came up. "I don't want to have to keep doing this," Del Rey said. She's since retracted her statement, saying that it was taken out of context.

But apparently that retraction came too late for Frances, who took to Twitter in a series of tweets, bashing the pop singer. "The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize," she wrote. "I’ll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool’. Well, it’s f---ing not. Embrace life, because you only get one life.”

Those tweets have since been deleted. The only tweet that now remains is a clarification of sorts:

Del Rey's new album, 'Ultraviolence,' came out last week and has been selling well. So hopefully her outlook on life will change a little now.

Here's one of our favorite songs from the record:
