I can't think of a better, fun, more adorable way to end the summer in Fort Collins than with an event like the Pooch Plunge.

In case you haven't heard of this awesome event, it's basically when City Park Pool officially closes to humans...and opens to the dogs! Owners bring their fur babies to the pool and let them loose to swim, make friends, and be merry little doggies.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes plunge into the depths of City Park Pool - big, small, black, speckled, brindle, etc. Most dogs are medium to large dogs, but for the past 2 years I've taken my 3.5 pound brindle chihuahua, Jaq Jaq, to the Pooch Plunge to swim like a "real" dog.

I'm not sure that he loves it as much as I love it, but he definitely had a fabulous time in the water (he's such a natural swimmer!), got an excellent night's sleep, and even swam with another tiny chihuahua in the pool!

Jaq Jaq's Jack Russell Terrier-mix cousin, Isabell, also splashed in the pool (and got smooched by a lot of cute dog boys).

Of course, I probably got the most enjoyment out of this between the 2 of us, especially since I took a GoPro with me to capture the precious footage of my little dog child. When you watch it below, be on the lookout for dogs in skirts, purple eyebrows, and sweet puppy kisses!

Did you go to the Pooch Plunge? Share your photos with me via email - I'd love to see them!
