Fort Collins Dad Dead-Son Missing in Oregon
A Fort Collins father died Wednesday in an attempt to save his teenage son who was knocked into the water while boogie boarding at Rockaway Beach, Oregon. The father's 17-year-old son is still missing.
According to the Oregonian, the teenager was knocked over by a wave and disappeared. His father went into the water after relatives could no longer see the teen from the shore. Another member of the family called 911 after they lost sight of the father. The father's body was found 45 minutes later by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, according to an agency spokeswoman.
The search continues for the 17-year-old boy. The names of the father and son have not been released at this time.
