Friday (March, 20) evening around 8:15 p.m., at the intersection of Drake Road and Lemay Avenue, traffic was at a standstill as a female cyclist was struck by an SUV going an estimated 40 mph. The cyclist was in or near the crosswalk, when the northbound Toyota Sequoia struck the women as it crossed Drake Road. The Coloradoan is reporting that the cyclist was thrown onto the hood of the SUV, and the bike was found siting about 20 feet from the front of the vehicle. Neither the cyclist or drivers names have yet to be released, the cyclist was transferred to Poudre Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time it is also not clear who was at fault, and drugs and alcohol are not yet suspected.
