Two vehicles collided Monday (May 9, 2016) afternoon, southeast of Loveland, causing Colo. 60 to close after one of the cars burst into flames. According to the Reporter-Herald, a silver Mazda that was traveling east on Colo. 60 hit a pickup making a tune. The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. where Weld County Road 3 meets Colorado 60. After the collision, all parties were able to exit their vehicles, and that's when the Mazda "erupted into flames."

The fire lasted about ten minutes, eventually being brought under control and extinguished by Loveland Fire Rescue. Both drivers suffered minor to moderate injuries, with the driver of the truck, reported to be in his eighty, remaining on the scene, while the driver of the Mazda, reported being in his mid-thirties being taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies.

While crews cleaned the scene of the accident, it's was reported that drugs, alcohol nor speed appeared to be a factor in the accident, and it has yet to be determined is any citations will be issued.
