This past weekend was the FoCoMX 2012 with over 300 bands playing at various venues around Fort Collins.  On Saturday, we were sure to hit up Everyday Joe's for some of their kids shows.  Our almost 3 year old daughter is shy, but loves music.  Jason Downing, lead man of Musketeer Gripweed has a Blues School performance for kids that we didn't want to miss.

This show got my daughter tapping her hands on the table (see below), which is awesome! He started off getting kids ready to dance, using a drum and showing them how rhythm naturally makes you want to dance. He showed them two different types of guitars and how awesome the "slide" can sound. He sang about pizza and let them participate.  This was a really great musical experience for the kids there. This was part of an outreach program that the Colorado Blues Society does at local schools.  At the end, they handed out a brand new, metal harmonica to each of the kids.  My daughter was so excited about her "nice harmonica in a case" that she kept showing us how to use it and mimicking the same performance we had just seen from Jason Downing.  Very cool!
