It has already been a devastating fire season, but yet another plume of smoke is visible from Loveland this afternoon. The Loveland Reporter-Herald says the fire in question is burning near Carter Lake.

Firefighters have been called to a reported fire west of Loveland in the vicinity of Carter Lake.

A plume of smoke is visible from Loveland, and the fire appears to be due west of First Street.

We'll keep you updated with any details as we get them. Let's just hope this is a small fire that can be put out quickly!

According to CBS Denver's Twitter feed, the fire was started by lightning. Fire crews are working on it and no evacuations have been ordered yet.
