The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests have lifted the Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on the Boulder, Canyon Lakes and Clear Creek ranger districts as of noon on August 1, 2017. Recent precipitation has made it possible to lift these restrictions.

The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland is located in north central Colorado. The forests and grassland encompasses 1.5 million acres and extends north to the Wyoming border, south of Interstate 70 to Mount Evans, west across the Continental Divide to the Williams Fork are.

This doesn't mean you can be reckless. Please continue to help in preventing human-caused wildfires. Forest visitors are reminded to use caution with campfires, putting them out completely, using plenty of water, until it is cold enough to touch.

Recreational sport shooters need to make themselves aware of where shooting is and isn’t allowed prior to heading out to the forest and should always ensure they are shooting in a safe manner with approved targets.
