The suspect in the Longmont Walmart shooting that left Keith Williams dead on July 23rd will not face any charges.

The announcement was made today that Joseph Anderson will not face any charges according to the Weld County District Attorney's Office. After statements from witnesses, an investigation by Longmont Police and evidence determined that Joseph Anderson was acting in self defense.

It was reported that Joseph Anderson was meeting a woman in the parking lot when Keith Williams showed up and appeared angry approaching Anderson with a tire thumper. The district attorney's office said that video shows the two fighting briefly before Keith Williams was shot at close range by Joseph Anderson.

Following the news that no charges would be filed, Joseph Anderson was released from custody.
