I was sitting in my basement office earlier this afternoon, searching for compelling blog content; and that's when the announcement came that, up on the main floor, there was smoke coming from one of our production rooms.

Shortly thereafter, the fire department showed up, and ordered all "non-essential personnel" to clear the building.

We sat in the parking lot, complaining that we had work to do and wondering what would become of our beloved studios and offices.

Three fire trucks and an ambulance remained ominously parked next to the building, as fire fighters scoured every nook and cranny, searching for where the smoke could have originated.  About 45 minutes later, we were allowed back into the building to resume our work.

After investigating for another ten minutes or so, the fire department ruled that some equipment had overheated, melted some plastic, and caused the odor and appearance of smoke.  All in all, in the words of our general manager Pete, "we're not going to burn down."

So, if you were in the Windsor area between 1 and 2pm this afternoon and were concerned about all the emergency vehicles surrounding our building, worry not.  We're all okay, and we're not going anywhere!
