Legendary QB John Elway Now Has One Less Steakhouse in Colorado
Every now and again, Coloradans like to hit up an upscale steakhouse; maybe for an anniversary, a special birthday, or "popping the question." John Elway has announced you can no longer do any of that at his legendary joint.
John Elway will always be a legend when it comes to Denver Broncos fans; his career for Denver garnered numerous NLF records and three Super Bowl wins: two as quarterback, and one as the team's GM.
That huge smile and "down home" demeanor has been welcomed in the state since 1983. The closing of one of his few steakhouses in Colorado, brings another end of an era for the QB.
Honestly, to me, you just don't think of a restaurant like Elway's ever closing down; yet, here we are talking about how his longstanding Cherry Creek restaurant is no longer a dining option, after the summer of 2024.
Elway's at Cherry Creek in Colorado Announces Closure
According to the Denver Post, Elway's at Cherry Creek, which opened in 2004, will be shuttering at the end of August, 2024, due to major construction happening at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

After 20 years, there must have been tens of thousands of people that have journeyed from all reaches of the state, to have a great steak dinner at Elway's. Maybe they made a big weekend out it: Shopping, some entertainment, and dinner at John's place. Many memories have been made there, over the years.
Will Elway's Re-Open in the Cheery Creek Area of Colorado?
The Denver Post states that John and his partner are looking at options for when the construction is done at Cherry Creek. Maybe, they'll find a whole new area for the steakhouse in the meantime; maybe one closer to Northern Colorado?
There are two Elway's at DIA, one in Downtown Denver at the Ritz-Carlton, and one in Vail; none of those sound like easy options for a special dinner.
