Early Morning Fire Chars UPS Truck on I-25 in Loveland
Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and Windsor Severance Fire Rescue tackled an early morning blaze near Crossroads Boulevard, which left a UPS truck scorched.
Loveland Fire Rescue Authority shared on its Instagram that the fire was called in to authorities during the early morning hours. The tractor-trailer fire appeared to involve some of the grass near Tri-City Cycle and WoodSpring Suites Loveland, as crews battled the fire for over three hours.
'Two LFRA 2000 gallon water tenders were requested to provide water supply for the operation,' Loveland Fire Rescue said, as the truck was 'powered by compressed natural gas which complicated the firefighting effort.'
Loveland Fire Rescue Authority did not mention if the driver of the truck was injured.
Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and Windsor Severance Fire Rescue also responded to a plane crash in the same area early Thursday morning. A single-engine plane lost power after leaving FNL, the Northern Colorado Regional Airport, and crashed on Crossroads Boulevard just west of I-25. Of the two people on board, the pilot was injured and was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies by ambulance.
