Don’t Miss the 2021 NoCo Down Syndrome Walk at The Ranch in October
The Northern Colorado Down Syndrome Association (NCDSA) is hosting the fifth annual NoCo Down Syndrome Walk on Saturday, October 2 at The Ranch in Loveland.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and attendees will get to enjoy the half-mile walk, games, family activities, and more — all while connecting with and supporting those with Down syndrome in the Northern Colorado community.
"We are excited to be able to have it in person this year," said Roxanne Batezel, a parent of a child with Down syndrome and Walk committee member, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "We want to increase the awareness of Down syndrome in this area and include you and your family in the walk if you can join us."
You can register for the walk online here. Proceeds from the event will benefit the NCDSA — in years past, funds have allowed for bike riding camps, scholarships, and more.
On top of its physical impact, the event also strives to shine a light on the needs and abilities that those with Down syndrome in our community have.
"Our guys are people first, and they are just like you are," said Batezel. "I think if you could just give them a chance and see them as people first and see their hearts, then that will be a real blessing to you."
