Don’t Buy or Eat This Salad, CDC Warns
In a tweet posted yesterday morning, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention posted a warning about the popular food item Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad Kits.
According to a statement on their website, the bagged salad might be prone to a multi-state E. Coli outbreak, where 8 cases have been reported, 3 resulting in hospitalization.
If you're a fan of these salads, consider taking a break for a while. If you have the salad in your fridge, here are top tips from the CDC:
- Don’t eat it. Throw it away.
- Even if some of the kit was eaten and no one got sick, throw the rest away.
- Wash and sanitize drawers or shelves in refrigerators where the salad kit was stored.
