Domino’s Delivered WHAT To Customer Instead Of Chicken Wings?
If you ordered chicken wings from Domino's but received $1,300 instead, would you keep it?
That's the predicament Domino's customer Mike Vegas found himself in last week after the driver accidentally delivered $1,300 cash to his door. Vegas didn't know this happened until 5 a.m. the following day, however.
Before getting called in to work Friday night, Vegas ordered chicken wings from the pizza company to be delivered to his home in Berkeley, California. Immediately after being delivered, he placed the box in his refrigerator and left for work.
"I got off work really late, and when I came back home I found the cash in the delivery box," Vegas told NBC Bay Area. "I was rubbing my eyes at 5 a.m., laughing at myself."
So did he keep the money?
"Of course there's a long list of people arguing you should keep it, you shouldn't keep it, you should keep it, you shouldn't keep it," he told a local ABC station. "I wanted to keep it, believe me. But I can't, I can't do that."
Vegas returned the money and was given free pizza for a year. The driver was also able to keep his job after the delivery mistake.
"Thank you so much for this," Domino's general manager Zia Mumtaz said when Vegas returned the money. "Honest people are hard to find these days."
So is returning the money worth it? If you were curious like I was, Vegas would need to order one Large Hand Tossed Ultimate Pepperoni Feast pizza every week to meet the cash amount (the total would actually come out to $1,403.48). Free money or free pizza for a year - either is a total steal for him.
