Does PETA Bother You? [POLL]

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has made quite a splash over the last few years mainly with their over the top ad campaigns, but now they have hit the road. PETA is traveling to visit colleges across the country, like they did at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley yesterday, to promote their beliefs. Does their almost pushy nature bother you?

PETA began 32 years ago as an animal rights organization, focusing on the treatment of animals in factory farms, the clothing trade, laboratories and the entertainment industry. Since its beginning, it has protested rodeos, circuses, animal testing and just about anything affiliated with the mistreatment of animals. Most recently it garnered attention by running ads spoofing the “got milk?” campaign with beer and using the “naked campaign” — where organizers strip to protest fur clothing — to draw media attention.

Yesterday they were at UNC in Greeley to promote veganism and vegetarian lifestyles. Vegan diets do not allow any animal meat or by-products, such as dairy, eggs and lard. PETA chose UNC was because of the prolific meat and dairy industry in Greeley.

PETA's protests and outlandish campaigns have other folks rather annoyed. Many wear hats and shirts that read P.eople E.ating T.asty A.nimals to show their disapproval. They believe animals were put on this earth to eat, and there is no organization that is going to convince them otherwise.
