Derek Creates a New Drink- The Irish Girl Scout

Sometimes I get random thought in my head, some good, most don't make sense. Luckily, I had a brilliant idea on Saturday. I am not sure if this idea was fate or not, but it sure is tasty. Alright, enough leading you on. This idea popped into my head when I was out with some friends at Old Chicago's celebrating one of their birthdays. I ordered one of my favorite brews, a Guinness. I know its not local, shame on me. Anyway, there I sit with Guinness when the waitress brings my friend a free shot for her birthday and that shot was a dirty girl scout. If you have never had a dirty girl scout shot, you are missing out. If created right it will taste exactly like a thin mint cookie. DELICIOUS!.

Now you probably know where I am going with this. I ordered myself the same shot, drank a little bit more of my beer so it didn't overflow and dumped the shot into the beer. I didn't bomb it, meaning drop the shot class in there and chug because I wanted hopefully enjoy the mix. I poured it into the beer and stirred it and then took the first sip. It was quite enjoyable and the consensus of the table agreed and thus the Irish Girl Scout was created on 2-25-12 at Old Chicago's in old town Fort Collins.

To me it tasted like mint chocolate milk.

So again the steps are really easy.

Step 1: Order a Guinness and a dirty girl scout shot

Step 2: Drink a little of beer and pour shot into beer

Step 3: Enjoy!
