Denver High School Cheerleaders Forced Into Splits [Video]

Cheerleaders can endure some of the most brutal workouts in sports. As someone who knows nothing about the sport, I can still see that effort that is put into what it takes. There is one difference from being willing to do work at it and being forced into some painful and possibly body damaging practices. A video surfaced from KUSA last night in what only some people can describe as torture.

Denver Police are currently investigating this video of Denver's East High School's teaching staff for the incident in which cheerleaders being forcefully pushed into extended splits positions. The video shows one of the cheerleaders begging 9 times in less than 24 seconds to "please stop".

The video also shows the coach holding down the cheerleaders and pushing them down even further. A warning in advance is warranted for this video as it may be hard to view:

KUSA has reported that the cheer coach, Ozell Williams, assistant cheer coach, high school principal, assistant principal, and the Denver Public Schools deputy general counsel all have been placed on administrative leave.
