The Orange Out game is coming up for CSU Football tomorrow (Sept. 11) and the Ag Day crowd and celebrations will be in full swing. After the numbers in the stands the team pulled for their season opener against South Dakota State, the hope is they're able to capitalize on a crowd of a similar size. And, hopefully, with a different outcome.

Although this is the first time CSU and Vanderbilt football will be facing off, it won't be the first time CSU head coach Steve Addazio and Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea will share a field.

For a few years, Clark Lea served on the coaching staff at Notre Dame in a couple of different positions. At the same time, Steve Addazio was the head coach at Boston College.

In three separate contests, Notre Dame took the win over Boston College. This will be Addazio's chance to face off against a team with Lea at the help in hopes of flipping the results.

Although frustration was shared by fans, coaches, and players alike after Sept. 3's game against South Dakota State, there are some encouraging points to take away from it.

While it took CSU quarterback Todd Centeio a few missed throws to connect with wide receiver Dante Wright and other receivers, Centeio still threw the first 300-yard game of his career. Centeio's leadership is something Addazio and fellow players have talked incredibly highly of since Centeio's arrival at CSU.

The "it" factor Centeio has been labeled with and the trust his teammates have in him is enough to encourage CSU fans to give the team another chance against Vanderbilt.

If in the last week CSU has been able to lock down on their offensive line, the outcome will look a lot different than the season opener. If Centeio was able to throw a 300-yard game even with pressure from the defense, imagine what could happen if he's allotted an extra couple seconds in the pocket.

Colorado State's defensive also really needs to tighten up on their defensive reads to change how they got outran by South Dakota State. The push to show their strength needs to be there. If not now, then the question becomes if we will be watching the same team we have been for years.

Colorado State versus Vanderbilt's kick-off is set for 8 p.m. tomorrow night, Sept. 11. Wear your orange, arrive early for Ag Day celebrations, and get ready to cheer on the Rams.

Tickets are still on sale on the Colorado State Athletics website.
