Northern Colorado has many great donut shops throughout the region. But one national chain that has been absent from the landscape could make an appearance soon.

According to the News & Observer, the company that owns brands such as Krispy Kreme and Panera Bread has an interest in buying the national chain Dunkin' Donuts. JAB Holding Co also owns Peet's Coffee, which sells products in stores across the country.

Bloomberg states that the cost of buying Dunkin Donuts could cost JAB Holding close to $8.2 billion, which would be more than 6x more than what the company paid for Krispy Kreme last year.

Dunkin Donuts has locations throughout Northern Colorado, including in Fort Collins, Windsor, and Loveland.
