Colorado Woman’s Breast Surgery Left Her In a Coma Condition

Parents of a teenage girl are suing for alleged gross negligence after a botched $6,000 breast augmentation at Colorado Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery ended with their daughter in a coma-like condition.... She didn't even make it to the breast implant surgery.

Dr. Geoffrey Kim and nurse anesthetist Rex Meeker left Emmalyn Nguyen on the operation table for 5 1/2 hours, her heart stopped, her mother remained unaware in the waiting room, and she never even went under the knife, according to KDVR.

“He said ‘Everything is fine, Emmalyn is fine, everything is good,’” Fam told KCNC, recalling what Kim told her. “‘She’s young, she’s healthy, she’ll be OK, it’s just taking her long to wake up.'”

She never fully regained consciousness after she went into cardiac arrest, and now she is in a “minimally conscious state” and is unable to speak, walk or eat on her own.

“She will remain in a nursing home essentially non-functional with someone feeding her through a tube for the next 50 years,” Woodruff told KDVR.
