Monday night a bear was killed in Woodland Park while climbing a tree during a lighting storm. Colorado Wildlife officials say the tree was struck by lightning while the bear was in it.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife tweeted out a picture of the dead bear yesterday saying "Lightning doesn't just kill people in Colorado. This tree in Woodland Park was struck by lighting late Monday night. Unfortunately, this old bear was in the tree. It died instantly."
