Where now stand large trunks of trees will soon stand great pieces of art created with the use of chainsaws, at 'Chainsaws and Chuckwagons.'

Though 2020's 'Chainsaws and Chuckwagons' event in Frederick didn't go exactly as planned, due to the pandemic, I was able to get out there and get some photos of the finished pieces. This year, I'm hoping to get there to see them being created.

'Chainsaws and Chuckwagons,' July 14 through July 17, 2021, at Fredericks Centennial Park, is bringing artists from around the country to show off their chainsaw skills on the logs provided, as well as live music, food trucks, and a farmers market.  The sound of several chainsaws all working at the same time has got to be something to hear.

The food truck rally, the 'Chuckwagons' will be at the park on Friday, July 16, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m, and again on Saturday, July 17; they'll also have free ax throwing at the park from Noon-7 p.m. Ax throwing fits right into a chainsaw event, in my opinion.

The artists will have to have completed their creations by 4 p.m. on Saturday, with the public voting starting at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony happening at 8 p.m.

Folks will be able to purchase the finished pieces of art, directly from the artists; also, they'll be having a 'quick-carve' where each artist will carve an item that will go up for auction at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021.
