Don't get me wrong, I'm all for saving some special mementos celebrating landmarks in a child's life but I think this one isn't going to stick with parents. For ages parents have been saving their children's first tooth they lost, hair from their first haircut and even the pregnancy test strip as a lasting keepsake. Well, now for those extreme sentimental parents, you can now preserve breast milk in a fashionable way.

The process requires mothers shipping 1-2 tablespoons of their breast milk (recommended in a double bagged zip-lock) to the creator where it then begins the preservation process. You can chose from her multiple pendants on her Etsy account all of which range from $64 up to $125. 8-10 weeks later, BAM! your custom breast milk necklace is ready to wear.

One mother, Ashley McCann thinks some gross-line has been crossed. "This is the most hilariously absurd trend in mommy jewelry that I have ever heard about in my life," she said. "I think it is just flat-out weird, to be honest."

The creator of these breast milk pendants believes it's a "wonderful way to preserve the 'liquid gold' that we are only able to make for a certain period of time." She also added, "This can be passed down for generations and what a fantastic gift to give to your child, the root of their survival."

Whether this mommy milk jewelry is for you? That's up to you. As it turns out there may be quite a few mommies out there digging the idea, the owner is receiving roughly 20 inquiries per day since she began her business in 2007.
