Bon Jovi Top Grossing Tour of 2010
For the second time in 3 years Bon Jovi ranked the highest grossing touring act of the year. It was a tough year I the concert biz as attendance hit a new low and lots of tours were cancelled or postponed, but plenty of bands still made a LOT of money.
According to Billboard, the band reported a gross take of nearly 147 million dollars and nearly 1.6 million people saw them in concert. That’s a lot of cash for ticket sales, and then think of merch sales, paid appearances, sponsorships, etc. I think I can safely assume that the Bon Jovi guys bank accounts certainly aren’t feeling much of a recession right now.
Bon Jovi also took the highest ranking in 2008 when their “Lost Highway Tour ” grossed 210 million. Bon Jovi joins the rank of the Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead as the only 3 bands that have had the highest grossing tours twice since 1986.
