If you've been in the past you know that New Belgiums Bike-In Cinema is a ton of fun and goes for a good cause. Since 2004 New Belgium has held a outdoor film series and welcomes it's Fort Collins patrons to bike in and enjoy a beer while watching a movie. The films start on August 20th and run through October 4th.

In 2004, the Fort Collins drive-in gave the folks at New Belgium Brewing Co. an idea.

Every summer since, the company has hosted its own “drive-in,” except this one is more of the two-wheeled variety.

While biking to the event is not required, New Belgium’s Bike-in Cinema encourages movie fans to trade in their cars for bikes and head to the brewery, where they can sit on the front lawn, sip a beer and see a movie. The annual event routinely packs in 400 to 500 attendees.

Along with New Belgium’s own compilation film, “cLips of Faith,” the series features classic and new-classic offerings. This year’s selections include Mel Brooks’ intergalactic send-up “Spaceballs” and Martin Scorsese’s documentary account of The Band’s final show, “The Last Waltz.”

All proceeds from beer sales go to local nonprofits, including Wolverine Farm Publishing and Bike Fort Collins, and typically exceed $10,000 per season.
