Let’s be honest, finding fresh and tasty sushi in Colorado can be quite the struggle. But there is no need to panic, because I’ve done some experimenting and found the best spots in Fort Collins to get sushi.

  • JAWS Sushi- Amazingly fresh sushi at great prices with a fun atmosphere? Count me in. Not to mention they also have a killer lunch special; it’s a good amount of food for an unbeatable price. My favorite rolls would have to be the Dragon Roll and the OG Kim K Roll, both are amazing and ‘must try’ dishes.
  • Nimo’s Sushi Bar & Japanese- I will never understand how Nimo’s manages to get the freshest sushi I’ve ever tasted into a landlocked state, but hey, I’m not complaining. Nimo’s is a family run business that works hard to prepare and find the best pieces of fish just for you.
  • White Tree- White Tree has authentic Korean and Japanese cuisines brought straight across Pacific and to your hands. If you are a fan of sashimi or nigiri, then White Tree is the place for you-- Sashimi and nigiri are their specialties.
  • Suh Sushi- You could say I am a frequent flier at Suh Sushi, but I am not ashamed to admit that. Due to the location, it is the perfect spot to grab some takeout on your way home from work or school. My go-to dish is the bento box, and yes, I know that barely has any sushi in it, but it's delicious and variety is a priority for me, OK?
  • Smokin Fins- Smokin Fins is not your average sushi spot. They put an American twist on traditional sushi, and the Eastern/Western cuisine mix works surprisingly well! Their rolls cross the spectrum from traditional, such as the ever-famous California roll, to the more elaborate, such as the Vegas roll. Going from one end of this edible spectrum to the other is well worth it, if you’ve got enough stomach space for it and a couple friends to help you out. But even if you're not a huge fan of sushi, Smokin Fin also has a wide variety of other dishes you are sure to love.
