Are These Slippers or Shoes?

I have been wearing these, what I think are shoes, for the past week but yesterday I was informed by a very unlikely person that I was indeed wearing slippers. Okay. Truth told. The woman who grooms my cat told me that it looked like I was wearing slippers. Today I asked Goldberg and he agreed with her. I could have sworn these were in the regular shoe section when I bought them at DSW.

What do you think? Shoes? Slippers?
