Collaboration is key when it comes to bringing in suspects. On Friday, Greeley police announced in a press release that, with help from Crime Stoppers of Northern Colorado, the Greeley Police Department was able to implicate 37-year-old Steaven Anthony Henderson of allegedly grooming, luring, and sexually assaulting a young boy.

The Crime Stoppers of Northern Colorado had called in an anonymous tip that had accompanying information that officers were able to use to bring in Henderson. Once the tip came in, police immediately opened a criminal case to investigate the allegations.

In the investigation, officers identified a juvenile male victim of Henderson. The tip had also suggested that Henderson might have gone to parks in the area of 14th Avenue and 5th Street in search of victims.

Police were able to arrest Henderson in his Greeley home on August 5, 2021. Henderson did not resist arrest. Henderson has been charged with a Class 3 Felony for Sexual Assault on a Child. He is currently being held in Weld County Jail.

While police are not releasing any further information at this time, they do recognize that there are potentially other victims of Henderson. They ask that if you were a previous victim, or recognize Henderson from seeing him around, you can contact Detective Dave Arpin at 970-350-9575.

The Greeley Police Department would also like to remind parents and children of the dangers in speaking with strangers. Knowledge and awareness are key, so have open conversations with children about adults they can trust and talk to if they feel they are in danger.
