Cranky Bull Elk Pops Truck’s Tires On Colorado Road
I'll never forget the first time I saw an elk in the wild. It kind of startled me for a second because I wasn't expecting this giant, majestic, and beautiful creature standing and staring at me from about 40 or 50 yards away from me.
I knew better at that point in time to go any closer because my instincts were to not spook this thing or make it mad. I didn't think it would be much fun to have this elk charging at me.
Unfortunately, we hear about people trying to get too close to these animals and that's when things get a little crazy. Now, in this particular case, this elk was spotted not by people on foot but on wheels.
According to Meateater, a couple from Parshall, Colo. were on a little snowy drive recently when they came face to face with a bull elk. Bull elks tend to get a little cranky if they feel you're too close to them, and that's exactly what happened here.
Tyler, who has had several run-ins with elk over his career as a hunting guide, decided to pull over and admire the incredible creature. Although his wife Sheena warned him not to - should have listened to the wife Tyler - he did, and the bull elk didn't appreciate the close up.
By the time Tyler realized he was in a bit of trouble it was too late. The elk charged the truck and rammed the tires with its antlers and popped them.
Thankfully for Tyler and his wife, that's all the bull elk went after. And, he captured the whole thing on video.
