Colorado State football operations has been suspended indefinitely after an investigation uncovered allegations of racism and verbal abuse in the football program.

The allegations of racism and verbal abuse come on the heels of a ongoing investigation into allegations that football players were being instructed not to report any symptoms of COVID-19 according to ESPN. CSU Athletic staff and players told ESPN that they were being discouraged from getting tested for the virus. They also claim that leaders in the athletic department are not "providing accurate information" to health officials and ignoring quarantine guidelines.

There is no specific information on the allegations or details on what might have been said at this time.

ESPN is reporting CSU athletic director Joe Parker said this Friday:

Colorado State University is committed to being an anti-racist university, and we will not tolerate any behavior or climate that goes against that core value. Moreover, CSU Athletics is committed to the health and well-being of student-athletes above all other priorities, and this includes their mental health. We believe it is our responsibility to make sure that all student-athletes feel welcomed and valued as members of an inclusive athletics community.

Anthoney Hill, the school's former player development coach and 90's quarterback expressed concerns about head coach Steve Addazio and a culture of toxic masculinity. Hill was hired by Coach Bobo and stayed with the team for about a month after Coach Addazio came in.

According to ESPN the former coach suggested he witnessed "racially insensitive comments" from Coach Bobo and was afraid it would continue under Addazio.
