My friend published a book a couple of years ago and today he informed me, he had recently discovered a spelling error in his book.  It makes him feel sick, because he is the kind of guy that catches spelling and grammar errors that most people miss.  I've read several books that have the dreaded small error.  I catch most misspellings, but not all of them.  I reread these website posts all of the time and sometimes I don't see the error until the third read.   We learned all those tricks in grade school for spelling, but maybe those memories have been evacuated by text spelling like "l8r" or "rotflmao", Facebook statuses and shows like Jersey Shore.  Here is a list to help you remember how to correctly spell the most commonly misspelled words according to Oxford Dictionary
