2019 Could Be Denver’s Coldest Year in Two Decades
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a bomb-cyclone and early admission to ski.
It's no surprise that we've seen record snowfall this year and frigid temperatures, but I certainly didn't expect this to be the coldest year in over 2 decades.
But according to weather.gov, 2019 is finishing up as a record-breaker, as Denver will likely record its coldest overall year since 1997. The average year-to-date temperature is 50.9 degrees, below the historical average of 51.5 degrees.
Denver Post reports that this year is also likely to finish as Colorado’s coldest year statewide, not just Denver, in more than a decade.
