Say it ain't so! We're apparently right in the middle of one of the biggest global wine shortages in 50 years!According to QZ.com, the wine industry is experiencing an “under-supply of nearly 300 million cases” a year. We can blame bad weather in France and Argentina for part of the problem, but worldwide wine production dropped 5% last year while consumption went up. This year looks like it should be much better than last, as far as production goes, but one good year won't erase the under-supply.

What does it mean for you? With over 1-million wine producers around the globe I doubt we'll be running out of it any time soon, but I would guess "less wine" would mean "more expensive wine" if this trend continues.

Drink it while you can, or stockpile it for later?...The choice is yours.
