19-Year-Old Identified as Suspect in Sept. 25 Broomfield Walgreens Shooting

On Saturday, Sept. 25, Broomfield Police responded to a report of a shooting outside the Walgreens located at Midway Blvd. and Zuni St. Authorities have identified the shooter to the public as 19-year-old Trevor Woodruff.

On the same day as the reported shooting, Woodruff, a Broomfield resident, was arrested, according to a release from the City of Broomfield.

CBS Denver also reported that Trevor Woodruff allegedly turned himself in to authorities.

Woodruff is reportedly being held on several charges:

• One charge of First Degree Murder
• Two charges of Attempted First Degree Murder
• Two charges of Assault in the First Degree with Injury

On Saturday, officers received reports of the shooting around 11:30 a.m. Broomfield Police responded and found one man deceased in the parking lot and an adult female and juvenile male that were later transported to a hospital. The young male was listed in critical condition.

The only further information released about the shooting is that authorities don't believe it is in any way connected to the store itself as no one inside was injured in the altercation.

Police have not released the identities of the deceased or injured. The Adams County Coroner will release the identity of the deceased male when the time is appropriate.

Update: The 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office has filed four official charges with six total counts against Woodruff, including: Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Assault in the First Degree, and Sentence Enhancer: Crime of Violence. 

Woodruff will face his preliminary hearing on December 12, 2021, at 9 a.m.
