‘Titanic,’ one of the highest grossing films in movie history, is getting a 3D retrofit that is scheduled to hit theaters on April 6, 2012.

Why? (Well, obviously it's to cash in the the 3D hype and make more cash.) But why, I ask, does 'Titanic' need the 3D treatment?!

On Wednesday, director James Cameron introduced a trailer for this 3D update on the Titanic Facebook page. But, because 3D technology isn’t going to work on your computer, the trailer is really no different than the trailer you would have seen in 1997, when the film was originally released. It does feature a new intro from James Cameron.

As you know, I'm not a huge fan of most 3D to begin with. Yes, a few choice movies really take advantage of 3D and look amazing, but for MOST movies, TV shows, and sporting events there is no need for 3D.

Take 'Titanic', it wasn't shot to be in 3D, it was never planned to be seen in 3D, but hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of movie goers will be shelling out movie theater prices and extra 3D charges to relive the movie all over again.

"But this time it's in 3d,"you say.

Is it going to be any better? Is it going to wow you out of your seat? Is it going change your view on 3D movies?

We'll see, but I doubt it.
