TequilaAhh, the last week of elementary school. Teachers and students yearning for the summer break that is just around the corner. It’s usually a time a celebration and euphoria, but one teacher in Janesville, Wisconsin started her summer celebration a little too early.

She was supervising a school field trip and got so drunk she passed out.

According to Gazette Extra, the 50-year-old was supervising a group of fourth-grade students from Washington Elementary School on a field trip on the last day of school.

She got ill and passed out on the field trip and went home early, but her husband took her to the hospital where they deduced her blood-alcohol level was .27, three times the legal limit. Oh, and when they did the test it was only noon!

The hospital called social services after she admitted to drinking earlier that morning before she was going to work with children.

The district is doing a ‘fact-finding’ investigation, but I have a feeling she won’t be back next fall.

I know working with fourth graders can be tough, but bad enough to drink yourself to a .27 B.A.C. before lunch?!
