Taylor Swift, The Biggest Thing In Music

Taylor Swift is apparently this biggest thing in America…again. For the second time in three years Taylor Swift has been named Billboard & Nielsen SoundScan’s top-selling artist of the year, and for the second consecutive year she is Billboard ‘s most-played artist.

Swift sold more than 4.4 million albums in 2010. And her songs garnered over one million spins at radio stations across the county. In addition to those accolades, Swift remains the top selling digital artist in music history.  (She held on to that No. 1 spot with over 34 million tracks sold.)

Taylor’s latest release, “Speak Now,” is on week number five in the number one slot on the albums chart. It’s already gone triple-platinum.

Not bad for a small-town Pennsylvania girl who learned to play guitar because of a computer repairman.
