As of right now, bars in Colorado can't serve alcohol past 2AM. A proposal has moved forward to the Colorado House floor to move the deadline back to 4:30AM. Do you think that's a good idea?

According to the Denver Post this bill was introduced earlier this month and would have originally allowed bars to serve until 7AM.

The 4:30 a.m. amendment came because public transit schedules begin closer to that time and there were also concerns from local government officials.

Some proponents of the bill say that this will curb having large crowds of people pour our of bars at 2AM which can lead to a lot of drinking and driving and fights. Other people say that allowing cities to choose what times their bars close could actually encourage people to drive drunk in order to continue drinking in cities where bars are open later.

What do you think of the issue?
