bwb_runnerTrying to outrun a woman who runs six-plus miles a day for fun is a tough thing to do. Just ask this bike thief who was chased down by a marathon runner in Seattle.

According to King 5, this woman was out for a run when she spotted a man stealing her husband’s bicycle from their garage. She gave chase to the thief and started shouting, “Call 911, that man is trying to steal my bike!” Some neighbors heard her and did call police while the woman chased after him.

For some reason the guy was trying to run away with the bike, but then ditched it once he realized that the woman was not going to stop. (I hate to be ‘captain obvious’ here, but wouldn’t he have made a faster getaway riding the bike?!)

While being chased the crook allegedly told the woman to “back off,” but her response was,

Look, I was going to run six miles today, but I could probably do twelve.

10 blocks from her house, police arrived and apprehended the would-be bike thief.
