What has thousands of trees and plants from all over the world, outdoor summer concerts, art exhibits, is a great place to take kids, costs less than $15/person and is less than an hour away from Fort Collins?

I took a trip to the gardens yesterday and had a great time. If you are looking for something to do with the family it makes for a great little day trip. Prices are not bad at $12.50 for adults, $9.50 for seniors, $9 for students and children and free for kids 2 & under. And they even have multiple free days throughout the year for Colorado residents.

And you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. (Although they have a restaurant and a café in the gardens as well.)

There are over 700 different Colorado-native specials of plans on display and plants from all over the world displayed in 43 different individual gardens. They even have a giant indoor greenhouse to display tropical plants. (There is nothing as refreshing as that first breath of cool air upon leaving the tropical room…it’s moist and toasty in there!)

Trust me if you like plants and flowers at all, you’ll love this place. Even if you don’t know anything about them, a stroll through the gardens is breathtakingly gorgeous.

Check out some of the pictures I took yesterday.

You can enjoy all that plus, they have a summer concert series at the gardens, they have art exhibits, and lots of special events. There is even a gorgeous lights display at the gardens around Christmas. Oh, and did I mention they have Wi-Fi?
