Sleep!  A distant memory.  People say it all the time that they miss sleep after having kids.  But this is different.  My daughter has NEVER slept through the night and now as a toddler, she just lays there awake, trying to go back to sleep, but unable.  She doesn't cry, she tries to go back to sleep on her own.  I hear her leg kicking the bed, much like an adult does when restlessly trying to sleep.  Does she have Restless Leg Syndrome?  Maybe.  Perhaps her smart little brain is just going over her large vocabulary and dreams of tomorrow.  She's healthy and happy.  So I guess it's not a huge issue.  There are so many parts of parenting that just sneak up on you, no way you could have predicted it would turn out the way it is.  Just like the rest of life I guess.
