When we had just one kid it was easy to help her use certain toys and if frustration began, you could just take it away. While, now as the mother of 18 month-old twin boys and a 4 year-old daughter. It just doesn't work that way. It's now a "if it causes frustration or injury to others" I take it away forever. So, we had all these fantastic toys that the boys' couldn't play with, because they immediately picked them up and tossed them or chucked them down the stairs.

Then it occurred to me, if I could secure these toys to something, then they could safely play with them. I quickly found a low, sturdy, $15 coffee table on Craigslist and put my husband to work. He screwed all of the toys to the table and we put the hammers on strings, so they couldn't walk away. This has been the best idea I've had, as far as play options. They love crawling and sitting on the low table. They now play with all the toys I had been considering getting rid of. So easy and so cheap. I realize you may not have space for a homemade activity table, so for you, I suggest a 2x4 screwed to a stud in the wall, and some fun wall mounted toys. Same idea, without the table.

My name is Kama and I'm a Mom...and that just freaks me out sometimes. I'm a bunch of other things that used to seem really important, but somehow being a Mom blurs those other things into mush. I have a 4 year-old daughter and 1 year-old twin boys. Everyday I have a "holy s**t, I can't believe I'm a Mom" moment and those get shared here.
