Greeley Police Seize 15 Dogs Living In A U-Haul Van

According to The Denver Channel, Greeley Police have seized 15 dogs from the back of a U-Haul van. The woman who owned the dogs is accused of inhumane treatment of animals.

Thankfully all the dogs are okay and have been taken to a shelter, but I’m guessing there will be some legal fireworks flying as the woman told reporters that all the reports about mistreating animals were lies and that she is getting a lawyer.

The Denver channel says police had warned the owner three times in the past couple of weeks and even ticketed for unlawful confinement of animals in a vehicle and failure to provide humane treatment. That was after an incident where police received a complaint of dogs locked in the back of a sealed van on a sweltering hot day. She had also had a few other run-ins with police and her unkempt dogs at a groomer and with the dogs living in her rental van.

I feel bad, this woman is probably trying to give these dogs a good home, but there comes a point when you just can’t take care of 15 animals. Heck, I have two and I can barely keep up.

If this woman is mistreating animals, I hope she is never allowed to have them again. If she wasn’t then I hope this whole mess gets straightened-out quickly.

I’m just glad all the dogs are okay.
